Parallels Between Modern U.S. Democrat Policies and Historical German Policies: An Analysis from a Liberty and Freedom Perspective

There are parallels between certain policies and public statements by the Democrat Party in the United States and actions taken by the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nazis) during their rise to power in the 1930s. This comparison is examined from the perspective of someone who values liberty and freedom as foundational to America's future, focusing on alignment with the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

As for control over information and media, Control Over Information and Media, Nazi in Germany, the Nazis controlled media outlets, censored opposition, and used propaganda to shape public opinion. The Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda under Joseph Goebbels was instrumental in this control.

Whereas modern Democrat policies aimed at regulating social media for "misinformation" or "disinformation" is their attempt to control those same narratives. Legislation or executive actions that push for the censorship of content deemed harmful parallels the Nazis' control over information.

The centralization of power in Nazi in Germany, the Nazis centralized power by dismantling federal structures, aligning all state functions under the party's control, and eroding the separation of powers.

Under modern Democrats, proposals for expanding federal power, such as significant increases in the size and scope of government programs, is them centralizing control. Moves towards federal oversight of local law enforcement or education echo the centralization seen in Germany.

Rights and freedoms according to Nazis in Germany, the Nazis curtailed civil liberties, including freedom of speech, assembly, and religion, particularly targeting political opponents and minority groups.

Then under modern Democrats policies or statements advocating for restrictions on free speech under the guise of hate speech laws, or moves towards gun control, is infringing on the First and Second Amendments. Additionally, initiatives perceived to favor certain groups over others based on identity are viewed as contrary to equal protection under the law.

Economic Policies by Nazis in Germany, the Nazis employed a mixed economy with significant government intervention, including state control over industry, labor, and agriculture, often under the banner of "public interest."

Whereas, under modern Democrats, proposals for government control over healthcare, education, and industry (like the Green New Deal's economic restructuring), echoes the Nazis' economic policies. The use of regulation to shape market outcomes or the push for social policies is more examples of similar governmental overreach.

Public Statements and Intentions by Nazis in Germany where public speeches and writings by Nazi leaders often spoke of creating a new society, with a strong emphasis on collectivism, nationalism, and racial purity.

With modern Democrats, public statements focusing on collectivist solutions, equity over equality, or systemic critique of American society resonate with the ideological drive of Nazi rhetoric, albeit with different focuses and justifications.

All of this leads to a Constitutional misalignment. Both historical Nazi policies and modern Democrat initiatives are running counter to the U.S. Constitution's emphasis on checks and balances, federalism, and individual rights:

  • First Amendment: Free speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition.

  • Second Amendment: Right to bear arms.

  • Tenth Amendment: State sovereignty against federal overreach.

From the perspective of anyone championing liberty and freedom, the alignment of Democrat policies and their repeated public statements with actions during Nazi Germany's rise is concerning. There is a pattern where state control, limitation of freedoms, and centralized power echo those historical precedents. These comparisons are made to criticize deviations from the foundational values laid out in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights and emphasize the importance of vigilance in the preserving American ideals of individual liberty and limited government. The future of this nation lies in the people's refusal to accept the authoritarianism handed them. Together We The People must be vigilant.
